Family photoshoot at home

With all this craziness happening in 2020, sometimes a photoshoot at home might be a great option! Most of us, foreigners, won’t be able to travel back home for Holidays and having some nice memories to share with families abroad can bring them closer to us!

Indoor Family Photoshoot

I love indoor photoshoots! Cozy, intimate and a great memory of your home! It’s nice having a beautiful park in the background, or the beach, but the great thing about shooting in your client’s home is giving them the privacy and opportunity to be more relaxed in their own place, specially with kids! Some of them can be shy and get uncomfortable in a different environment.

Good lighting is important. So, finding a spot with good lighting is vital. Although in outdoor sessions I usually look for soft and golden light—late in the afternoon—in indoor photoshoots the more light the better! And you don’t have to stress over whether it’s going to rain on the day of your shoot or not. No matter what the weather is, you’re safe indoors. Moreover, you can control your environment and set it up according to your need or preferences, or according to which one is most comfortable for you and your clients—and also, no need to worry about the crowd in the background or trying to blur them out!

Family photos in Sao Paulo, Brazil

After over 6 years living abroad, photographing these marvellous people in Brazil made me emotional! We’ve met while living in Singapore, a fews years back. We became friends—family, actually. When they moved back to Brazil, Manuela was a few months pregnant of their first girl!

The hardest part of living abroad is exactly this: not being part of your family and friends’ routine. FaceTime is not the same as a hug, a long lunch making small talk or a bottle of wine mixed with laughs, confessions, people that you love! You are constantly split between longing and excitement.

It was amazing seeing this family growing and I’ve no words to say how grateful I am for this photoshoot! Thank you, Manu and Joao! Love you all! xx
